Review of Essassi Hotel, MarrakechDuring my recent stay at the Essassi Hotel in Marrakech, I found myself reflecting on the balance between luxury and value. The hotel is set in a centrally located area that allows for a delightful eight-minute walk to the main square, enveloped by the vibrant culture and charm of the city. The common areas reflect splendid Moroccan design, and the terrace offers a nice sitting space to enjoy the fresh air, though an element of sunshade would enhance comfort during hotter hours. Despite a 1:00 am arrival, the hotel seemed unprepared, with the entrance locked and minimal signage. After a challenging search, I located my room, only to discover cleanliness issues, particularly with the floor. The road-facing location made nighttime rest difficult due to ongoing street noises. Though the price was favorable, the condition of the room fell short of expectations. While the hotel offers a shared kitchen and tea/coffee facilities, these amenities were not accompanied by the level of service I anticipated. The Essassi serves as a budget-friendly choice, albeit with a need for improvements in upkeep and hospitality that would elevate the experience.
